A field of navy. A scatter of rhombus. A blessing for your home.
Six weeks of work. One artisan. One loom. One rug — never to be repeated.
This handwoven blue kilim Moroccan rug was made by Moroccan women artisans, working on a vertical loom over roughly six weeks of patient work — thread by thread, never copied, never repeated. It is a true flatweave — low-profile, durable, and easy to place in everyday rooms. Made entirely from 100% natural wool and naturally dyed, this is not a reproduction. Every irregularity in the weave is the trace of a human hand. It is the only one of its kind in the world.
Meaning & Symbolism
Scattered across the navy blue field are rhombus motifs — powerful Amazigh signs representing protection, strength, and courage. They appear again and again across the rug like a quiet refrain, each one a small geometric blessing from the artisan's hand.
Smaller marks move between them — hourglass shapes, layered triangles, and clusters of tiny diamonds — each one a word in the visual language of Amazigh weaving, passed down through generations of women who never needed to explain them.
The result is not only decoration, but a handmade object shaped by patience, memory, and daily use.
The Symbols on This Rug
Each motif carries meaning in Amazigh weaving — together they read like a quiet blessing for your home.
Color from the Earth
Every color in this rug comes from one of two sources: a traditional pigment dissolved in a copper pot, or the natural color of the wool itself, straight from the sheep. Nothing is bought as a ready-made color.
The cream and white threads in the motifs and fringe are not dyed at all — they come straight from the natural color of light-fleeced sheep.
