We prepare a clear proposal with your design, dimensions, materials, finish, price and estimated timeframe. You review it before paying a deposit.

Colour and texture, confirmed first.

First we review the wool shades. Separately, we prepare a woven texture reference to confirm construction and feel before full weaving.

A texture-only sample helps confirm the weave, density and pile. Colour preparation happens separately.

The Making

Meet the women weaving your rug.

TazRugs is the online extension of the Iznaguen Women's Cooperative in Taznakht, Morocco, working alongside other women-led cooperatives. We match your rug with artisans skilled in its technique, introduce the women making it, and share progress photographs and videos so you can follow the work.

Finishing

Finished with care.

Once off the loom, the rug receives its finishing, washing and sun-drying. We check the pile, edges and the fringe style you chose.

Approval and Delivery

See the rug before it leaves Morocco.

We send final photographs and video for you to review. Only after your approval and the remaining 50% payment do we arrange tracked dispatch.

Common Questions

Before you begin.

How long does a commission take?

Most custom rugs take approximately 6–13 weeks, depending on the dimensions, technique, complexity and finishing requirements. Shipping time is additional.

Can I change details after weaving begins?

Design, materials, dimensions and finishing details are agreed before production. Changes once weaving has begun may not be possible, so we review these decisions with you in advance.

Can I use my own design or photograph?

Yes. You can share a photograph, sketch, moodboard or reference, or we can help you develop a design from an initial idea.

Can I change the colours or texture?

Yes. We agree on the palette, materials and texture during development, then review colour photographs and a woven texture reference before full weaving.

Do you send a physical swatch?

Our standard sample is woven to confirm texture and construction, with photographs or video shared for review. Colour shades are prepared and approved separately. Physical shipment can be arranged if agreed for your project.

How does payment work?

A 50% deposit confirms the commission. The remaining 50% is paid after final photographs and video are approved, before dispatch.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We arrange tracked international shipment and provide tracking once the rug is dispatched.
