Frequently Asked Questions

Who is TazRugs?

TazRugs is a brand of handmade Moroccan rugs from Taznakht. We’re a cooperative of 64 women artisans, creating beautiful rugs while earning fair pay. Every rug is handcrafted, ethical, and full of meaning.

What Makes TazRugs Special?

At TazRugs, we offer authentic Amazigh rugs, handwoven by skilled women artisans from Taznakht, Morocco. Each rug is crafted with 100% high-quality natural wool and plant-based dyes using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Every design comes straight from the weaver’s imagination—no paper patterns or machines are used. Each rug carries a story through its symbols and patterns, connecting the artisan to the owner, making every piece truly one of a kind, meaningful, and high-quality.

How long will my rug last?

With proper care, a TazRug can last over 100 years, becoming a heirloom passed down through generations of your family. Each rug is made to endure and tell its story for decades to come.

How can I take care of my rug?

Vacuum regularly – Use a suction-only vacuum or avoid rotating brushes. Some wool shedding during the first few days is normal.

Spot clean spills – Treat spills immediately with water and a mild detergent.

Natural cleaning – Sprinkle a mix of baking soda and coarse salt on the rug, leave for 1–2 hours, then vacuum. Baking soda disinfects and neutralizes odors, while salt lifts dust.

Professional cleaning – Have your rug professionally cleaned every 2–3 years, or for heavier soiling. Dry cleaning helps preserve the wool and natural dyes.

Storage – Fold carefully and add a sachet of dried lavender to protect and naturally scent the wool.

Air out – Occasionally let your rug breathe in sunlight for natural ventilation.

Do you offer gift wrapping or special packaging?

Yes! If you’re sending a rug as a gift, we can provide special packaging and other customization options upon request.Contact us for details
