Every colour at once. Knot by knot. No pattern — only warmth.
Five weeks of work. The hands of Amazigh women. One loom. One rug — never to be repeated.
Tied knot by knot over four weeks, this multicolour Moroccan rug carries no single motif, no central symbol, no border — only a dense, hand-knotted pile of individually coloured wool knots scattered across the field like a meadow seen from above. Made in Taznakht, Morocco, in the Anti-Atlas foothills, by Amazigh women artisans, it is 100% natural sheep's wool, naturally dyed. Coral pink, cobalt blue, amber ochre, madder red, olive green, cream, dark brown, and natural gray — each knot its own colour, each row slightly different from the last. From a distance the field reads as warm and tonal. Up close, it resolves into hundreds of individual decisions. It is the only one of its kind in the world.
Meaning & Symbolism
This rug carries no single symbol — and that is its meaning. In some Amazigh weaving traditions, the scatter of colour is itself the blessing: abundance, joy, and the refusal to leave anything out. Where a geometric rug names the thing it protects — the diamond for family, the eye for the threshold — a confetti-field rug like this one gathers all colour, all warmth, all energy into one place and releases it slowly into the room.
Each colour present carries its own quiet weight. The coral and rose tones speak of life, vitality, and the warmth of a home in use. The cobalt and navy bring calm and protection. The amber and ochre call in welcome and the warmth of sunlight. The olive and sage hold the land and the quiet persistence of growing things. The cream and natural tones are the wool itself — undyed, honest, grounding.
The result is not only decoration, but a handmade object shaped by patience, memory, and daily use.
The Texture of This Rug
There are no pictorial motifs in this rug — its character lives entirely in its construction. Four qualities define what it feels like underfoot and what makes it different from anything machine-made.
Color from the Earth
Every colour in this rug comes from one of two sources: a plant-based pigment dissolved in a copper pot, or the natural colour of the wool itself, straight from the sheep. Nothing is bought as a ready-made colour.
The deep red, olive, and navy tones are not separate dyes — they are made by layering and over-dyeing the three base pigments by hand.
The cream and warm gray tones are not dyed at all — they come straight from the natural colour of the wool, sheared from different sheep.
Perfect Spaces
At 59 × 41 in (150 × 104 cm), this rug works beautifully in rooms that want warmth and texture without competing with existing colour or pattern.
A warm, grounding centrepiece — the confetti field reads as tonal from a distance, so it anchors a seating area without clashing with furniture or art on the walls.
Deep pile, soft natural wool, and a warm colour field — the rug makes the room feel settled and alive in equal measure, without the weight of a bold geometric.
A durable hand-knotted accent that brings colour and warmth to a passage — the pile holds up well to foot traffic while the tonal field ages gracefully.
A welcoming detail that introduces the home with Moroccan warmth — the scatter of colour says something joyful before a word is spoken.
A tactile, deep-pile layer that makes a quiet corner feel warmer — the closer you sit to it, the more colour you find in it.
May your home be filled with warmth, colour, and happiness. May this rug bring comfort and inspiration to every corner. — The Artisan's Blessing
