Triangles rising. A spectrum of earth. A quiet strength for your home.
Three weeks of work. The hands of Moroccan women artisans. One loom. One kilim — never to be repeated.
Handwoven in Morocco by skilled women artisans using 100% natural wool, this small Moroccan Kilim is a flatweave built over roughly three weeks on a single loom — each pass of the shuttle placing colour exactly where the weaver intended. The palette runs from deep red and golden yellow to forest green, sky blue, and charcoal black, dyed from madder root, natural indigo, pomegranate peel, and henna. At its centre, a chevron of rising triangles anchors the design, giving the piece a clear visual identity that reads from across a room. It is reversible — the same design on both sides. It is the only one of its kind in the world.
Meaning & Symbolism
At its centre, this Small Kilim carries triangle motifs — one of the oldest and most consistent symbols in Amazigh weaving. Pointed upward, the triangle speaks of strength and aspiration; arranged in a rising chevron, the triangles suggest balance, the mountain, the shelter of a roof held firm against the world. To the weavers of Morocco, they have long been associated with protection of the home and the people inside it.
The multicolor palette is not decorative accident. Red signals strength and the vitality of life. Golden yellow carries warmth and a welcome that does not fade. Forest green speaks of growth and the land. Sky blue brings calm and a quieting of worry. Together, they layer into something richer than any single colour could carry.
The result is not only decoration, but a handmade object shaped by patience, memory, and daily use.
The Symbols on This Rug
Each motif carries meaning in Amazigh weaving — together they read like a quiet blessing for your home.
Color from the Earth
Every colour in this rug comes from one of two sources: a plant-based pigment dissolved in a copper pot, or the natural colour of the wool itself, straight from the sheep. Nothing is bought as a ready-made colour.
The forest green and warm terracotta tones are not separate dyes — they are made by layering and over-dyeing the three base pigments by hand.
The charcoal and soft cream tones are not dyed at all — they come straight from the natural colour of the wool, sheared from different sheep.
Perfect Spaces
At 37 × 28 in (95 × 72 cm), this kilim works beautifully in compact, intentional spaces — compact enough to layer, bold enough to anchor.
A welcoming first impression — the triangle motifs and multicolor palette introduce the home with unmistakable Moroccan character.
The bold triangle design and rich colour field translate naturally to textile art — hung flat, it reads like a contemporary woven painting.
A compact layer of colour, softness, and handmade presence — ideal for a reading nook or the foot of a favourite chair.
A warm, grounding centrepiece that anchors a seating area — the multicolor spectrum holds its own alongside natural linen and wood.
Soft wool and Moroccan colour add comfort at the bedside or foot of the bed without feeling generic or overdone.
May your home be a place of peace. May joy and colour fill your days. May the triangles woven here keep strength and courage walking with you. And may this woven prayer surround you always. — The Artisan's Blessing
