A long path of color. Watchful eyes in every band. A blessing for your home.
Six weeks of work. One artisan. One loom. One rug — never to be repeated.
This handwoven Moroccan kilim runner rug was made by Moroccan women artisans, working on a vertical loom over roughly six weeks of patient work — thread by thread, never copied, never repeated. The design is built band by band, each row its own small composition of color and pattern. The rug is fully reversible — the same artisan design can be styled from either side with equal beauty. Made entirely from 100% natural wool and naturally dyed, this is not a reproduction. It is the only one of its kind in the world.
Meaning & Symbolism
Across the length of this runner, small eye motifs repeat band by band — traditional Amazigh symbols meant to protect the home from harm and keep positive energy flowing freely through the space. Each eye watches outward, a quiet guardian set in place by the artisan's hand.
Around them, finer geometric forms — diamonds, zigzags, small clusters of flower-like shapes — fill the bands with rhythm. Together they read like a row of small woven prayers, stretched the full length of the rug.
The result is not only decoration, but a handmade object shaped by patience, memory, and daily use.
The Symbols on This Rug
Each motif carries meaning in Amazigh weaving — together they read like a quiet blessing for your home.
Color from the Earth
Every color in this rug comes from one of two sources: a traditional pigment dissolved in a copper pot, or the natural color of the wool itself, straight from the sheep. Nothing is bought as a ready-made color.
The deep indigo blue, the olive green, and the burnt orange across the bands are all built by layering, over-dyeing, or thinning the pigments above — never from a separate ready-made dye.
The natural cream, warm grey, and deep black threads woven through the bands are not dyed at all — they come straight from the natural color of the wool, sheared from different sheep.
Perfect Spaces
At 62 × 27 in (157 × 69 cm), this runner works beautifully in narrow, long spaces — long enough to anchor a hallway, narrow enough to soften a kitchen galley.
The runner shape brings handmade texture and warmth to long passages.
A welcoming first layer with Moroccan character and durable wool.
A low-profile wool accent that softens a practical working space.
A narrow, comfortable textile underfoot beside the bed.
The pattern can be appreciated as woven textile art when displayed vertically.
