A Reversible Moroccan Flatweave Runner, Made to Size

Eugene chose a design from our collection and commissioned it in his preferred size. Mina handwove the new runner using a reversible flatweave technique, with the same design on both sides.

The story

A design he loved, in the size he needed.

Eugene discovered a 70 × 150 cm runner in our Design Library and wanted the same design in a longer 80 × 250 cm format for his home.

We prepared a design visualisation for Eugene to approve before Mina began weaving. Because he had already seen the original rug and its details, a separate wool colour or texture selection was unnecessary.

The artisan

Handwoven by Mina.

Once the design was confirmed, Mina began weaving Eugene's runner by hand.

Progress photographs were shared during production, so Eugene could follow the runner as it took shape on the loom.

Client feedback

“We commissioned two custom Moroccan rugs through the store’s website, simply by submitting a photo, and the entire process was seamless from start to finish. Ihssane is a true gem! She stayed in constant contact with us throughout the entire process, patiently addressing every little detail and making sure everything was just right. Her personal attention, professionalism, and genuine care made the whole experience a pleasure. The work was completed on time and exactly to our specifications. The women at the cooperative are not only authentic artisans but true artists of their craft. Their exceptional skill and dedication are reflected in the beautiful rugs they create. We couldn’t be happier with both the experience and the results. Highly recommended!”

Questions about your own commission

Can I order a Moroccan runner in a different size?

Yes. Eugene chose an original 70 × 150 cm TazRugs runner and commissioned a reversible flatweave version measuring 80 × 250 cm, with the same design on both sides. We prepared a design visualisation for his approval before weaving began.

You can explore our Moroccan Rug Design Library or share your own reference. If you don't have a design in mind, our team can help develop one for your space and preferred colour palette.

How does the custom Moroccan rug process work?

We begin by discussing your design, dimensions, colours, preferred texture and weaving technique. If you have a reference, we can adapt it; if not, our team can help develop a design for your space. We prepare visual references when needed and confirm the specifications before production.

A 50% deposit confirms your commission. You will be introduced to the artisan or artisans making your rug and receive regular weaving photographs and videos.

Once the rug is finished, we share photographs and videos for your final approval. The remaining 50% is paid after completion and your approval, before dispatch. We then arrange tracked delivery.
