How it works

How your rug goes
from idea to your doorstep.

No showrooms. No middlemen. You tell us your vision — Ihssane designs it with you, the cooperative weaves your custom Moroccan rug, and it ships directly to your door in any size you need.

01

Share your vision

Size, colors, inspiration — a photo, a paint chip, a feeling. We ask the right questions and figure it out together.

02

We design together

We send you a photo and video of your exact wool color and swatch before a single thread is woven. You approve the exact materials in real light. Nothing starts without your yes.

03

Handwoven & shipped

Your weaver spends 6–14 weeks building your rug knot by knot. Weekly loom photos. Final approval before it ships. Then it arrives with her name.

1

You tell us your vision

Fill in the form — size, colors, feeling, where it will live in your home. Even if you're not sure yet. We figure it out together.

2

We reply within 48 hours

A real person reads your request the same day. We come back with questions, ideas, and first thoughts. No automated response. No ticket number.

3

You pay the 50% deposit

Your deposit confirms your commitment and ours. From this moment, your rug is real — it exists in our calendar, in Taznakht, in the hands of the cooperative.

4

We design it together

Colors chosen in conversation. If you have an inspiration image — a room, a painting, a landscape — we match it from our dye palette.

5

You receive the swatch

Before a single thread of your rug is woven, we send you a photo and video of your exact wool and color. You see the texture, how the dye sits in real light. You approve it — or we adjust.

No other custom rug brand does this. You approve the actual materials before production begins.
6

Weaving begins

Your rug goes onto the loom. Knot by knot. Your specific design, your specific dimensions, your specific colors.

7

Weekly photos from the loom

Every week you receive photos of your rug in progress. You watch it grow from the first row of knots to the full piece — from thousands of miles away.

8

You learn her name

Once the right weaver is confirmed — matched to your design by skill and availability — we send you her name, her age, and how long she has been weaving.

Not randomly assigned. The weaver whose skill makes her the right person for exactly what you've described.
9

Finishing

When weaving is complete, the rug is washed by hand, sun-dried in the Atlas air, and inspected against your original brief.

10

Final approval

We photograph the finished rug in full light — every corner, every detail — and send it to you before it ships. You give the final word.

11

You pay the remaining 50%

Only once you have seen the finished rug and approved it. Not before.

12

It ships to your door

Packed carefully, shipped with full tracking. You follow it from Taznakht to your home.

Twelve steps. Weeks of work. One rug. One weaver.
And you will know her name.

You approve the actual wool before we weave a single knot.

We send you a photo and video of your exact materials in real light. No other custom rug brand does this.

💳 50% deposit to begin · 50% balance only after you approve the finished rug · Never pay for a rug you haven't seen

The cooperative story

Sfia built this
for her women.

Built by a mother. Carried forward by her daughter.

In 2009, Sfia Iminotras founded the Iznaguen Women's Cooperative in Taznakht with 63 other Amazigh women — to commercialise their rugs directly, cut out every intermediary, and make sure the value of their craft finally reached the hands that created it. Every Taznakht rug we make comes from this cooperative — woven from Atlas Mountain wool, by women who have practiced this craft since childhood. Today, her daughter Ihssane built TazRugs — the brand that connects these women directly with you. So that their work is valued. And their names are known.

Watch it before you place your order.

Choose your collection

Choose how your
custom Moroccan rug is made.

Two collections. Same cooperative. Same looms. Same women. The difference is the materials — and the story they carry.

Crafted Collection · For everyday beauty

The wool meets the same standard you'd find in a high-end rug studio — spun for resilience, dyed for color that holds decade after decade. But it isn't made in a factory. It's woven knot by knot in Taznakht, by a woman who has been doing this since she was a child. If you want a rug that belongs in a real home — children, pets, bare feet, daily life — this is the one.

  • Premium quality wool — built for decades of daily life
  • Rich, lasting color — vibrant dyes, consistent and fade-resistant
  • Every weave pattern available
  • 6–8 weeks from approval to your door
  • Starting from $590

For: design-led buyers, families, anyone who wants bold color and decades of durability.

"A Crafted rug is not a compromise. It is a choice — the choice of color that stays vivid and wool that holds its softness for decades."

Heritage Collection · For those who want history

Siroua mountain wool — hand-sheared above 3,000m, hand-washed, hand-spun, hand-woven. Dyed with madder root, indigo, pomegranate peel, and onion skin. Zero machines at any stage, from raw fleece to finished rug.

  • Siroua wool — Morocco's finest breed, raised above 3,000m in the Anti-Atlas
  • Natural dyes only: madder root, indigo, pomegranate peel, onion skin
  • Zero machines from shearing to finished rug — every gram processed by hand
  • 10–14 weeks — the wool itself needs time to be hand-prepared
  • Starting from $950

For: sustainability-minded buyers, collectors, anyone who wants the full traditional process.

"When you choose Heritage, you are not buying a product. You are commissioning the last form of textile-making that exists exactly as it did eight centuries ago."

Both are made by the same women, on the same looms, in the same cooperative.
The difference is not quality — it is what you want the rug to be.

Ihssane will read your email as soon as possible.
And when your rug is on the loom — we'll tell you her name.

Every question,
answered honestly.

It's a rug woven specifically for you — not pulled from stock, not a standard size. You choose the dimensions, the colors, and the pattern. One weaver at our cooperative in Taznakht weaves it from scratch, knot by knot, on a traditional loom. Nothing is produced until you've approved the brief and the materials. The result is a handmade Moroccan rug that exists nowhere else.
It depends on the size, the design complexity, and which collection you choose. The Crafted Collection typically takes 6–8 weeks from deposit to your door. The Heritage Collection takes 10–14 weeks — not because it's slower, but because the wool itself requires more time: hand-shearing, hand-washing, hand-spinning, natural dyeing. Every week counts as work, not waiting.
Yes — completely. There are no standard sizes here. Runners, small accent pieces, medium area rugs, large statement formats, oversized, unusual shapes for awkward rooms. Tell us your exact dimensions and we confirm pricing within 48 hours.
Yes, everywhere. The US, UK, Australia, Canada, and across Europe are our most common destinations. Shipping is always included in the price — no surprises at checkout. Rugs typically arrive 5–10 business days after they leave Taznakht, via tracked courier.
Yes. Once weaving is underway and we have matched your design to the right weaver by skill and availability, we send you her name, her age, and how long she has been weaving. This is not a marketing claim — it is what we do for every order.
The Crafted Collection uses premium wool — dyed for lasting color, built for daily life. The Heritage Collection uses Siroua wool from sheep raised above 3,000m in the Anti-Atlas mountains, processed entirely by hand from shearing through dyeing. No synthetic fibres in either collection.
Yes. You can request specific geometric patterns, colors, and Amazigh symbols — or leave the design to your weaver's instinct. Every diamond, chevron, and zigzag in a Moroccan rug carries meaning. Just tell us what feels right to you and we will guide you from there.
You approve the wool swatch before weaving begins, and you give final approval when the rug is finished — before you pay the second half and before it ships. You are never paying for a rug you haven't seen.
50% upfront before design and production begin. The remaining 50% is paid only after you have seen and approved the finished rug — before it ships. You never pay the second half for a rug you haven't seen.

Somewhere in Taznakht,
a loom is waiting for your design.

One rug. One weaver. And you will know her name.
